the big one — non-refundable credit

all cashback you earn through charged is applied to your energy account as non-refundable credit. this means it's real money working directly against your energy costs — but it cannot be cashed out, transferred, or paid to a bank account. it lives on your energy account and that's where it does its job.

think of it like a voucher that's already been added to your account, rather than cash in your pocket. the upside? it gets there automatically, with no action from you.

what non-refundable credit means for you

your credit reduces the amount you owe on your energy account
you can choose to apply it to your next payment or spread it across upcoming bills
it cannot be withdrawn as cash
it cannot be transferred to another account or person
unused credit does not expire, but remains tied to your energy account
if you switch supplier, credits already applied before notice of switch are not transferable

how credit gets to your account

charged collects cashback earned from partner retailers and distributes it in batches to your energy account. credits are typically processed within 30 days of a qualifying transaction being confirmed. travel bookings may take longer, as cashback is paid once your stay or trip is completed.

your energy account & direct debit

charged is not an energy supplier. your energy account, direct debit, and billing remain entirely with your supplier. charged simply adds credit to your account — we do not handle, change, or access your direct debit or billing in any way.
